Shiprocket

Account, pickup location, dimensions and tracking.

Shiprocket gives you live courier rates and lets you book shipments from the order screen, instead of keeping a courier portal open in another tab.

Before you start

  1. Create a Shiprocket account and complete their verification.
  2. Add a pickup location in Shiprocket — the address parcels leave from. Note the nickname you give it exactly.
  3. Keep some balance in the account; couriers will not book without it.

Connecting it

Integrations → Shiprocket:

FieldWhat to enter
Account emailYour Shiprocket login email.
PasswordYour Shiprocket password. Used to obtain an API token.
Pickup pincodeWhere parcels leave from. Rate lookups are calculated from it.
Pickup location nameThe nickname registered in Shiprocket. It must match exactly — a mismatch fails only at booking time.
Channel IDOptional. Leave blank unless Shiprocket support told you otherwise.
Auto-create shipment on paidBooks a shipment automatically when an order is paid. Leave off while learning.
Tracking webhook tokenA secret you invent; set the same value on the Shiprocket webhook.

Package defaults

Length / breadth / height (cm)Your usual box.
Default item weight (g)Used when a variant has no weight of its own.

Be honest about the box. Couriers charge on volumetric weight as well as actual weight — roughly length × breadth × height ÷ 5000. A default box larger than what you really ship quietly inflates every rate you are quoted, and every rate you pass to customers.

Tracking webhook

  1. In Shiprocket: Settings → API → Webhooks.
  2. Paste the webhook URL shown on the Shiprocket card in your store. It ends /webhooks/shiprocket/.
  3. Set the token to the same value you entered as "Tracking webhook token".

Without it, tracking statuses never update on their own and you are back to checking a portal.

Testing it

  1. Press Test — that confirms the login works.
  2. Take a real paid order and create a shipment from it.
  3. Check rates appear. No rates usually means the pickup pincode or location name is wrong.
  4. Assign an AWB, print the label, and confirm the tracking status updates over the next day.
