Reviews
Collecting and moderating customer reviews.
Reviews are the cheapest conversion improvement you have, and they are also a moderation responsibility. Nothing appears on the storefront until you approve it.
Approving reviews
New reviews arrive as pending. Under Reviews you approve or reject each one. Approving publishes it on the product page and counts it towards the product's rating.
| Status | Visible on the storefront |
|---|---|
pending | No |
approved | Yes |
rejected | No |
Do not reject a review for being critical. A page of nothing but five stars reads as fake and converts worse than a mix. Reject spam, abuse and anything about a competitor — not honest disappointment. A thoughtful reply to a three-star review sells more than its absence.
Keep the queue short
A growing backlog is a real cost: those are customers who took the trouble to write something and cannot see it. Check it on a schedule, not when you remember.
Getting more of them
- Ask after delivery, not after purchase — they need the product in hand.
- Ask once. A second reminder annoys more people than it converts.
- Make it one tap. Every extra step halves the response.
- An automated journey can do this — see Campaigns and journeys.
How ratings show up
Each product carries an average rating and a review count, shown on the product page and on cards. Only approved reviews count towards it.
