What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to apps and data sources with your permission.

Does GoSell add AI charges?

No. You use the assistant you already have; GoSell provides the connection.

Which assistants can connect?

Any assistant that supports connecting to an MCP server, such as Claude (custom connectors) or ChatGPT (with developer mode on, added from Plugins).

Can an assistant change my store?

Only if you allow it. Access is read-only by default. With write access switched on, it can update stock, product and page copy, review moderation, coupons and the theme — every change is logged, and drafts wait in a review queue for your approval.

What can I ask it?

Anything your store data can answer: sales and trends, stock, orders, customers, campaigns and journeys, SEO gaps, reviews and shipping. It can also combine them — for example, a prioritised plan to grow revenue this week.

Can I disconnect an assistant?

Yes. You can switch the connector off or revoke an assistant’s access at any time from your admin.

Does an assistant see more than my staff can?

No. Every tool checks the same permissions as the admin screens for the account that approved the connection.
